The Office of Sustainability in November put out two requests for consultants or teams to implement environmentally friendly initiatives.
One request seeks a contractor that would promote recycling at Conseco Fieldhouse and Lucas Oil Stadium as part of a broader marketing campaign to encourage the practice.
The other asks for submissions for an urban conservationist whose responsibilities would include managing the city’s rain garden program and encouraging landowners to use green infrastructure.
Responses for both requests were due Nov. 23. No rough budget estimates were given for the projects pending selection of a bidder.
The green efforts are part of a broader initiative to strengthen the city’s environmental policy by the Office of Sustainability, which Mayor Greg Ballard created in 2008.
