Really Cool Foods laid off 31 full-time workers on Monday from its Cambridge City manufacturing and distribution center. Company spokesman Roger Harvey said the layoffs were needed because its holiday orders had been filled.
Harvey told the Palladium-Item that the company is optimistic about growth and adding employees during 2011.
Really Cool Foods opened its Cambridge City operations in 2008, saying it planned a $100 million investment and expected to hire 1,000 employees in a five- to seven-year period.
Harvey said that despite the layoffs, the company's sales remain strong.
