A bill authored by Republican Rep. Kevin Mahan of Hartford City would revise state law so that pharmacies could accept unused prescription drugs from customers and dispose of them securely and safely.
State Attorney General Greg Zoeller voiced support for the bill during a news conference Monday. He said parents' medicine cabinets often are the source of prescription drugs misused by teenagers.

The bill has been assigned to the House Public Health Committee.
