The Terre Haute Tribune-Star reported Wednesday the Indiana plant will become Sony DADC's only U.S. compact disc manufacturing plant east of the Mississippi River.
Sony DADC earlier this month announced it would close its Pitman, N.J., plant March 31, cutting about 300 workers. That plant had produced, at its peak, about 16.5 million CDs per month.
The Terre Haute plant now employs about 1,150 workers. It also manufactures Blu-ray, DVDs and video games.
