Micronutrients currently has 72 employees. It was founded in 1994 and is a division of locally based Heritage Technologies LLC.
The company is set to break ground this month on a new plant, which will be located next to its existing production facility and headquarters at 1550 Research Way near West Washington Street and South Girls School Road.
The first of three production lines should be completed by October. Micronutrients at that time plans to hire 34 employees to manufacture products that serve as sources of trace mineral nutrition in livestock and companion-animal foods. The nutrients copper, zinc and manganese are essential trace minerals required to maintain animal productivity and well-being.
Two additional production lines will be added in the following two years, and should create 10 more jobs, the company said.
