Both stores are planning new locations at the busy intersection of West 86th Street and Ditch Road. CVS plans to build a store
on the site of a recently closed Shell gas station at the intersection’s southeast corner, moving from an older-format location
just east of the spot. Meanwhile, Walgreen’s has filed plans to build a pharmacy and retail store on the current home of Aaron-Ruben-Nelson
Mortuary, which sits on the north side of 86th Street between a Speedway gas station and a Hardee’s restaurant.
The mortuary plans to begin construction soon on a facility along Michigan Road near 114th Street.
