The Indiana Department of Administration announced Thursday that the centerpiece of Monument Circle is being fenced off starting next Wednesday.
The agency says the purpose of the project is to repair the joints and connections of the bronze Victory statue that tops the monument. It says crews also will repair the steel structural support for the statue, add support components and fix cracks and water damage to the limestone eagles below the monument's observation deck.
