Republican Brian Bosma says the House will consider a formal censure motion Monday. Bosma also says fines against the absent members will increase from $250 a day to $350 a day starting that day.
Bosma told reporters that he and Republican Senate President Pro-Tem David Long would announce later Thursday how they planned to proceed for rest of the General Assembly's session.
Legislative business in the House has been stalled since most Democrats left for Illinois on Feb. 22 over education- and labor-related bills they find objectionable.
Democratic Rep. Win Moses of Fort Wayne called the fines a poke in the eye and said they wouldn't break the impasse.
