Baker & Daniels hired Horvath as its diversity and pro bono coordinator in 2007, marking the first time an Indiana law firm devoted a full-time position to coordinate its diversity and pro bono efforts.
Those efforts include helping to teach a civil law course with Eli Lilly and Co. attorneys at Shortridge Magnet High School for Law and Public Policy. The national program matches urban schools with volunteers from corporate legal departments to encourage students of color to enter the legal profession.
Horvath earned a law degree in 2002 from the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis and was the Indiana State Bar Association’s director of sessions before coming to Baker & Daniels.
With 224 local attorneys, Baker & Daniels is the city’s second-largest law firm, according to IBJ statistics.
