Financial terms of the deal were not released. Lucas Oil Raceway is one of five tracks owned and operated by the California-based National Hot Rod Association, and MZD officials said it now represents one of MZD’s five largest clients.
“We had an opportunity to see their work on a recent campaign and we were impressed by the results,” said Wes Collier, Lucas Oil Raceway general manager. “Together with their familiarity and experience with our facility and their understanding of motorsports, it created the right fit for us.”
MZD will handle advertising, promotional programs, media placement and digital marketing for the motorsports facility, which hosts NASCAR and NHRA events.
The hiring of MZD comes on the heals of California-based Lucas Oil replacing Misouri-based O’Reilly Auto Parts as the title sponsor of the facility, which includes an oval, road course and drag strip.
“We’ve got a new sponsorship partner—Lucas Oil—and a new promotional team with MZD,” Collier said. “We’re ready to hit the throttle and create even more history for our fans in 2011.”
