The [Nov. 17 Focus] article on Don Welsh, the new Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association CEO, intrigued me. No
mention
was made on the use of green-building practices, so I submit the following thoughts:
Pittsburgh now offers the amazing new and competitive David L. Lawrence Convention Center as the first certified "green"
convention
center in the world. It is the only meeting venue to be awarded the Gold LEED certification.
We can now boast about our world-class airport. Wouldn’t it be great to offer the new addition to the Convention Center as
sustainable, along the lines of the Pittsburgh center? If not now, when?
