TIPPECANOE COUNTY Lafayette, West Lafayette to get joint branding, marketing plan

Indianapolis-based Hirons & Co. is developing a joint branding and marketing strategy for the downtown areas of Lafayette and West Lafayette. The new plan will be an update of a marketing plan Hirons developed for the cities five years ago.

The Lafayette-West Lafayette Downtown Development Council has raised the $35,000 Hirons will be paid for the plan.

The agency will meet with business owners and residents over the next few weeks. Public meetings will be held in June to solicit ideas. Hirons expects to present its branding plan to the downtown council in August.

The rebranding plan follows an announcement in December that The Lafayette-West Lafayette Convention & Visitors Bureau is one of 11 tourism agencies in Indiana selected to participate in a community assessment program.
