Company officials announced the plans Wednesday, saying it expected to hire people for the customer service, finance and general administration jobs over the next three years.
Berry Plastics says it has added nearly 600 people to its Indiana workforce over the past two years and now has some 2,250 employees in the state. The company recently completed a $150 million expansion of its manufacturing operations in Evansville.
It is the largest private company in Indiana, with 2010 revenue of $4.4 billion according to IBJ research.
Officials say the new planned positions come from both company growth and consolidation of office locations in Illinois and Minnesota.
Berry makes plastic packaging products and has 75 manufacturing facilities around the world.
