As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowMassage Envy, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based franchisor, plans to nearly triple its Indiana presence by opening nine new locations within the next year.
The chain said on Tuesday that five of the centers should be in the Indianapolis metropolitan area, at Keystone at the Crossing in Indianapolis, Fishers, Greenwood, Plainfield and Southport. Others are planned for Bloomington and Lafayette, as well as two in Fort Wayne.
The company currently has five massage centers in the state, all in the Indianapolis area, with two in Carmel, two in Noblesville and one in Avon.
Founded in 2002, Massage Envy operates 670 centers in 43 states. Those locations that have been open for more than a year average about $900,000 in annual revenue, the company said.
