Kearney & Co. notified the Indiana Department of Workforce Development on Thursday that a loss of 84 jobs will result from the federal government’s decision to perform contract work done by the firm in-house.
The company conducts audits and provides financial services for the federal government.
DFAS is an agency of the United States Department of Defense that provides finance and accounting services for civil and military members of the department.
Launched in 1991, it is headquartered in a 1.6-million-square-foot building on the grounds of the former Fort Benjamin Harrison on Indianapolis’ east side.
It employs about 3,600 people.
