As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowAn actuarial and employee benefits consultant says a survey shows Indiana health care benefits at work rose an average of 7 percent this year for single coverage and 8 percent for family coverage.
The survey by the firm Nyhart found the typical Hoosier is paying $105 per month for single coverage and $417 per month for family coverage. Indiana employers provide an average subsidy of $364 monthly for singles and $915 for families.
It also found nearly one in five employers increased their deductibles.
Nyhart says the survey reached 215 employers across Indiana reflecting the benefit plans of more than 170,000 workers. The results were presented this week at an Indiana Chamber of Commerce employee benefits seminar
