Amy’s PJs opened in October at 3961 E. 82nd St.
Graham, 42, owns the business with her husband, Rodney. Rodney, CEO of Magnum Logistics Inc. in Plainfield, provided the business expertise. Amy supplied the passion.
“I’m just a jammy girl,” she said.
They invested $143,000 in the startup, using personal savings and an SBA-backed loan. Amy Graham hopes to draw customers looking for upscale jammies, a luxury she likens to high-thread-count sheets.
From infants’ creepers to men’s footed pajamas, quality comes first, Graham said. The selection is impressive. Silk, Egyptian cotton and moisture-wicking sleepwear. Chenille robes. Slipper boots. Colorful shower caps.
Just don’t look for lingerie.
“I know nothing about that stuff,” Graham said.
A full-service website (amyspjs.com) is in the works, and Graham already is thinking about designing her own line of sleepwear.
Her enthusiasm is unmistakable.
“I’m happy to come to work every day,” she said. “It’s mine, and I love it.”
