Signature Farms, a division of JBS United, will donate over 40,000 pounds of ground pork to the Midwest Food Bank through its “Promise for Protein” program. The pork will be distributed to 220 food banks, pantries and shelters in more than 40 Indiana counties.

The Horace Mann Classroom Project, a joint venture of The Horace Mann Cos. and DonorsChoose.org, has chosen Heather Stephenson, a teacher at Erskine Elementary School in Anderson, to receive funding for her “Reading Comprehension, Come on Down!” project.

Calvin Fletcher’s Coffee Co. staff will donate all of their tips to Second Helpings as November’s partner of the month.

AlphaGraphics of Carmel has chosen to support the fight against breast cancer by raising $15,000 for the Central Indiana Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

The Salvation Arrny, Sam’s Club, and the NFL players’ wives association Off the Field, teamed up for the fifth annual “Dream Drive for Salvation Army,” which brightens the holidays for local families in need.

Fundraising Results
Best Buddies Indiana received $5,000 from the 11th annual New Boston-Citimark Broker Appreciation Golf Outing.

Grants
Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation Inc. gave a $350,000 grant to WFYI Public Media for facility repairs and improvements.

Finish Line granted $5,000 to Happy Hollow Children’s Camp to support the summer camp.

Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust awarded $1,522,155 to 17 Indiana organizations, with the largest portion going to organizations assisting people in need.

Ball Brothers Foundation awarded over 30 grants worth more than $1,063,000, several of them in support of Muncie Action Plan Initiatives.

The Glick Fund announced $1.6 million in grants to 27 local organizations that focus on arts, education, human needs and self-sufficiency. Among the recipients was the Indianapolis Parks Foundation which received $65,000 to support the urban farm, Indy Urban Acres.

The Glick Fund gave the Indiana Repertory Theatre $135,000 to support productions, community outreach programs, youth audience development and its student matinee program.

Mark Schmidtke has been inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel.

William M. Ehret was recognized as 2011 Realtor of the Year, Mary Hauser was named Professional of the Year and UGL Services was awarded Project of the Year by the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors.

Elizabeth Niemiec, Nathaniel Montgomery Osborne VI, Jill Osterhus and Krystal Shirrell received 2011 Power of Children Awards from The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

Ice Miller LLP was recognized by The Bond Buyer as Leading Bond Counsel Firm for its “standout performance” in bond deals in the first three quarters of 2011.

Bernardin Lochmueller & Associates Inc. received the 2011 Pro Patria Award which recognizes one employer per state for its support of employees in the National Guard and Reserves.

Brightpoint Inc. received the Green Supply Chain Award from Supply and Demand Chain Executive magazine for its sustainability initiatives.

Dr. Paul Dexter was named one of America’s leading clinical informaticists by Modern Healthcare.

POLARIS Laboratories was named to Inc. Magazine’s list of the 5,000 Fastest Growing Privately-Held Companies in America.•
