FishersFind.comdraws about 4,000 unique visitors a week to its business, restaurant and calendar listings. The previous owner, Stephen Clark, also used the site as a vehicle for creating and hosting Web pages for homeowner associations.
Wagenhauser, an IT consultant, bought the site from Clark in May for $8,000. He hopes to turn it into a one-stop source of information on all things Fishers and Hamilton County.
Although his experience is in fixing computer networks, Wagenhauser said he jumped at the chance to own the site.
"It sounded like a lot of fun, and I love Fishers," he said.
Wagenhauser has made several changes. Business and calendar listings are free, and users can independently enter information into the calendar.
Wagenhauser plans to sell featured business listings and banner ads, but he predicts that the dozens of homeowners’ associations in Hamilton County will provide the main source of revenue. FishersFind now hosts pages for three homeowners’ groups.
