The high holy day of Indiana’s technology industry is getting a new theme this year.

The TechPoint Tech Summit will this year be known as the TechPoint Innovation Summit, Sept. 28-29 at the Indiana Convention Center.

The difference, you ask? For years, the summit has been a forum for entrepreneurs, policy leaders and venture capital folks to discuss and wring hands over the future of the technology community, which has grown markedly over the last decade.

"Today, our tech sector is thriving, and maintaining this momentum is still a critical part of our mission. But a broader and even more critical issue is our ability to encourage and commercialize innovation," said TechPoint President and CEO Jim Jay.

Keynote speaker will be Clayton Christensen, a Harvard business professor known for work in "disruptive innovation." For more information, see www.techpoint.org/summit.

This year’s summit also will pull in other economic initiatives under the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. BioCrossroads, Conexus Indiana and the recently formed Energy Systems Network will stage panels highlighting innovation in their respective industry sectors.
