Radio executive Tom Severino, who managed four local stations for Indianapolis-based Emmis Communications Corp., died yesterday
after a five-month battle with cancer.

Severino, 57, was vice president and general manager of WIBC-FM 93.1, WLHK-FM
97.1, WFNI-AM 1070 and WYXB-FM 105.7. He joined Emmis in 1994.

"[This] is a very difficult [time] for all
of the Emmis family," Emmis Chairman Jeff Smulyan said in a statement. "To those of you who knew [Severino] and
loved him, his spirit will remain forever in our hearts."

During his 30-year-plus radio career, Severino spent
time as an on-air personality, advertising account executive, retail sales manager, station manager, general manager, marketing
manager and radio group vice president.

He has been named one of the top 50 General Managers in America by Radio
Ink
magazine every year since 1998. He was ranked No. 1 general manager in the medium market category in 2003 and 2004.

Severino, a 1973 graduate of Murray State University in Kentucky, is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda,
and three children.
