Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but motorsports business experts estimated it’s probably worth $1 million to $5 million a year.
JMI will help Nissan and the automotive giant’s motorsports division, Nismo, develop its international and regional motorsports strategy and activity.
The agency will support global motorsports and performance-division activities for the Nissan brand. JMI will also develop and execute regional and global racing programs for the Nismo LEAF RC, a zero-emissions racing car based on the all-electric Nissan LEAF production model.
“This is a significant new client for JMI,” said Zak Brown, Just Marketing founder and CEO. “Nissan has strong motorsports roots and is in very exciting times as a company and brand.”
JMI works with some of the biggest corporate sponsors in NASCAR, Formula One and IndyCar. The company also represents NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon.
“JMI’s knowledge, influence and relationships within motorsports make them a natural partner to help Nissan reach our objectives within the sport,” said Nissan spokesman Simon Sproule.
