The Indiana Economic Development Corp. announced Tuesday morning that Jacob Schpok officially has been named director of the agency.
IEDC applied the interim director title to Schpok after Jeff Heinzmann, state director since 2007, resigned effective Dec. 1.
A native Hoosier, Schpok has worked at the ISBDC since June 2005 and has held the positions of business adviser and director of program and business adviser education.
He has co-founded two businesses and earned an entrepreneurship and small-business management degree from Ball State University’s entrepreneurship program.
The ISBDC network is composed of 10 regional offices that provide a range of services to emerging and established businesses. Funding comes from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the state, universities and the private sector.
