A federal appeals court in Washington on Friday approved a request by electric power companies, states and other parties seeking to delay the rules until litigation over the regulation plays out.
Daniels praised the court's ruling Saturday in a statement, saying the EPA rule is "extreme and utterly unjustified." The governor says the rule would raise consumer bills by double-digits across the state and kill Indiana jobs.
Indiana gets about 95 percent of its electricity from coal-fired power plants.
The EPA rule finalized in July replaces a 2005 Bush administration proposal that was rejected by a federal court.
