Curt Fankhauser, who joined Blakley last year as chief operating officer, will take over from Mike Blakley, whose grandfather started the firm in 1898. Blakley had been president and CEO since 1974, and he will remain as chairman.
“We are confident that Curt has the experience, talent and entrepreneurial drive to continue the growth which has become a trademark of this company," Blakley said in a prepared statement.
Fankhauser has held senior executive posts in construction and related products for the past 20 years. He previously worked at TMC Building Products, Farm Fans and Butler Manufacturing Co.
"Blakley’s record of innovation and customer service for more than 110 years were a perfect match for my experience and business style,” Fankhauser said.
