Huber replaces John Pelizzari, who had held the position since 2006. He announced his retirement from the bank in
June after working for the company for more than 30 years.
With 726 local employees, Fifth Third Bank is the third-largest
bank in the Indianapolis area, according to IBJ research.
Huber arrives in Indianapolis following a two-year
stint as market president of Fifth Third’s Cleveland office. She joined the company in 2001 and
previously served as senior vice president and manager of the retail division in Cleveland.
“While we will miss John and we thank him for his more than three decades of service to the bank,
I’m confident that Nancy will continue to build upon the momentum John and his team created in
Indianapolis,” said Terry Zink, head of Fifth Third’s retail and affiliate administration,
in a prepared statement.
A graduate of Miami University, Huber has more than 20 years of retail merchandising
and management experience. Prior to joining Fifth Third, she was divisional vice president for Parisian Department Stores,
a unit of New York-based Saks Inc.
Huber begins her new duties July 20.
