bar or tavern owners are doing voluntarily to meet the market’s demands for more smoke-free environments.
The
article also mentions that bowling centers and casinos are exempt from the Marion County ordinance. While this is true, in
2006 the Indianapolis member centers of the Central Indiana Bowling Centers Association Inc. went smoke-free voluntarily everywhere
in their centers, except the bar.
This was done to not only meet the market’s demand, but to ensure a healthier
atmosphere for families and children. Any help IBJ could give our Indianapolis members in letting the Indianapolis
community know that CIBCA Indianapolis bowling center operators have gone smoke-free voluntarily except in the bar areas would
be greatly appreciated.
