The Indiana House Education Committee voted unanimously Monday to approve a measure that would make it easier for students to carry credits earned from one state university, like Indiana, to another public university, like Purdue. Republican Sen. Jim Banks of Columbia City is sponsoring the measure.
The proposal establishes a common numbering system for basic courses taken by students. It also requires schools to adopt common core courses that can be counted for credit at any of the state's public universities.
