Citing an Indiana Gaming Commission report released Thursday, the Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., reports that the Horseshoe Southern Indiana casino about 10 miles west of Louisville increased revenue $974,614 in February compared with the same month last year—despite a 5 percent drop in admissions.
Officials credited the reopening of the Sherman Minton Bridge the night of Feb. 17, which made the trip to the casino easier for 12 days including most of two weekends.
Traffic to the casino took a hit when the bridge was closed in September due to a steel crack.
