Honda officials and Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman are taking part in a ceremony Monday morning at the factory to mark the first Acura ILX built at the plant. Skillman's office says the new hybrid Acura will be exclusively built at the Greensburg factory.
Production of the new Acura hybrid comes after the factory started last year building another alternative-fuel vehicle, the Civic Natural Gas.
Honda's factory opened in 2008. It roughly doubled its work force last year by hiring nearly 1,000 new employees when it added a second production shift.
Honda is seeking to revive the Acura brand with the ILX model.
