As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowCeladon Group Inc. announced Monday that it has named Eric Meek as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer at the Indianapolis-based trucking company, effective immediately.
Meek, who has been with Celadon for eight years, has been vice president, treasurer and principal financial officer since 2010. Before coming to Celadon, Meek was an auditor at Ernst & Young.
President and Chief Operating Officer Paul Will said Meek's new position is part of a succession-planning process that Celadon's board started several years ago.
"We believe Eric's industry knowledge and financial acumen will serve the company well in what has become a constantly evolving and fast-paced transportation marketplace," Will said in a statement.
Will previously held the titles of chief financial officer and executive vice president before becoming president and COO in November 2010.
Shares of Celadon declined 13 cents, to $15.70 each, in afternoon trading Monday. Its shares have traded in a 52-week range of $8.18 to $16.50.
