IUPUI, the Indiana Supreme Court and the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library were among fifteen not-for-profit organizations that received grants totaling $28,000 from Indiana Humanities, for programs that seek to engage the public in the humanities.

Easter Seals Crossroads was awarded $714,700 by Lilly Endowment Inc. for continued support of its Respite Services initiative.

African Wildlife Foundation and SEEtheWILD were recipients of the largest 10% partner donations given to date by Endangered Species Chocolate.

Fox Hill Elementary School received $2,500 from The Kroger Co. to improve bi-lingual signage in the school.

Conner Prairie Interactive History Park received $5,000 from The Kroger Co. to support its K-12 education programs.

National FFA Organization will receive more than $850,000 from Monsanto Co. this year to support its conferences, awards and leadership campaigns.

Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust had awarded $1.4 million in grants to 24 organizations that help people in need, protect animals and nature and enrich community life.

Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance matched employee and agent donations to give a total of $26,200 to the American Red Cross for relief from the March 2 storms in Southern Indiana.

Staples Foundation gave a $25,000 grant to the Local Initiatives Support Corp. to help support seven Centers for Working Families.

Indianapolis Foundation and its Library Fund awarded more than $332,000 to nine not-for-profits and libraries serving Marion County, including more than $57,000 to the library at IUPUI.

The Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation gave $500,000 toward establishment of the Institute for Civic Leadership & Mayoral Archives at the University of Indianapolis. The gift will endow an annual Richard M. Fairbanks Symposium on Civic Leadership.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services awarded a $125,000 Conservation Project Support grant to The Children’s Museum to help protect its textiles collection.

The City of Indianapolis awarded $84,000 in community block grants to 13 agencies that provide summer enrichment programs for youths aged 4 to 19.

Lilly Endowment gave $1.5 million to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana Inc. for its Child Hunger Initiative.

In Recognition
Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman, Maggie Lewis, Karen Freeman-Wilson, Marilyn Moores, Tanya Walton Pratt and Tamika Catchings received recognition awards at the annual King/Kennedy commemoration event.

The Behavior Analysis Center for Autism was the only facility in Indiana to be included on the “Best Schools” list for children with autism by TheBestSchools.org.

Pamela Su Perry was named recipient of a 2012 Women’s Leadership Award for Outstanding Faculty and Staff by IUPUI.

Jordan Mather-Licht, a student at Broad Ripple High School, won top honors in the 2012 Indiana Poetry Out Loud competition.

Dr. Lawrence Einhorn was honored with the Joseph H. Burchenal Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Cancer Research by the American Association for Cancer Research.

Brower-Jacques Design won the People’s Choice Award, and Nature’s Choice Landscaping won both the Mayor’s Award and the Belgard Challenge at the Indiana Flower and Patio Show.

Blue & Co. LLC was named one of Accounting Today’s 2012 Top 100 Firms.

Wessler Engineering received the Mary Lou Schnell Associate Member of the Year award from Alliance of Indiana Rural Water.

Russell and Lou Ann Mawby were honored by Indiana University’s Center on Philanthropy for their long-time volunteer and philanthropic support of the center.
