Grants
The city of Noblesville Student Docent Project, Harrison Center for the Arts and Brick Street Poetry Inc. were among 12 not-for-profit organizations state-wide receiving $23,500 in Historic Preservation Education Grants from Indiana Humanities and Indiana Landmarks.

Damar Services Inc. received a $50,000 grant from Lilly Endowment.

Peace Learning Center was awarded an $800,000 grant by Lilly Endowment for its Peace School Program.

Eighteen Indianapolis organizations received a total of $1,820,000 from the Community Crime Prevention Grant Program.

Horizon House received a $4,000 grant from the Ayres Foundation and a $5,000 grant from The Old National Bank Foundation to support its Opportunity Knocks programs. An $8,000 operational support grant was given by the Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Foundation.

Indiana Bar Foundation received $10,000 from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution to train teachers to teach the U.S. Constitution.

In Recognition
WISH-TV’s 24-Hour News 8 team won 11 regional EMMY awards for outstanding achievement, including Best Daytime and Best Evening newscasts.

Messer Construction Co. received an Excellence in Safety Award from the Metro Indianapolis Coalition for Construction Safety.

Rod Taylor, founder of the Indianapolis Air Show and the Miracle Ride, has been named 2012 Indiana Aviator of the Year.

The Farmers Bank was recognized by the Indiana Bankers Association with a Five Star Member award.

Gary Rosenberg, IUPUI associate professor of earth sciences, was honored by the Geological Society of America with the Mary C. Rabbitt History of Geology Award.

Community Hospital North received the American Health Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Bronze Quality Achievement Award.

Michael Harris, chancellor at IU-Kokomo, was recognized by the Israeli newspaper Maariv as the top Israeli in academics worldwide, working outside Israel.

Chuck Baldwin, Kim Ebert and Brain McDermott, as well as their law firm, Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart PC, were ranked in the 2012 edition of Chambers USA.

Intrapromote LLC, and its president Erik Dafforn, were honored by American Honda Motor Co. with a Premier Partner Award.

Robert J. Hicks and James A. Strain were ‘Top Ranked’ in the 2012 edition of Chambers USA. Nine other local Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP attorneys were named “Leaders in their Field.”

The Hagerman Group was named 2012 Contractor of the Year by Top Notch of Indiana.

Sixty-five Frost Brown Todd attorneys and 15 practice areas were selected for inclusion in Chambers USA. Alan S. Brown and David T. Kasper were ranked in Indiana’s Band 2.

Hannah Dolores Kassab earned the Girl Scout Gold Award from Girl Scouts of Central Indiana.

EnVista was named to Food Logistics magazine’s 2012 Top Green Providers list.

Larry Baker Jr., Melvin Patton and Tim Parks were recognized by the Fathers and Families Center with Heart of a Father Awards, sponsored by Managed Health Services.•
