The announcement is likely to come at a press conference Wednesday morning at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Officials said the press conference was planned "to discuss the economic impact of hosting Super Bowl XLVI," which took place Feb. 5 in Indianapolis.
Officials did not provide an agenda for the press conference, but said 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee executives Mark Miles and Allison Melangton will be joined at the event by Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard.
A study by Rockport Analytics commissioned by the host committee estimated the direct economic impact of this year's Super Bowl on Indianapolis was $176 million.
The next Super Bowl without a chosen host is in 2016. The 2013 Super Bowl is set for New Orleans; the 2014 game is scheduled for New York; and the 2015 event is set for Glendale, Ariz.
