Three local accounting firms crack national top-100 list

Blue & Co. LLC, Katz Sapper & Miller LLP and Kemper CPA Group LLP are the only three locally based accounting firms to crack Inside Public Accounting’s latest annual top-100 list.

Based on 2011 annual revenue, Carmel-based Blue & Co. slipped one spot from the previous year, to 55th, although revenue grew 9.1 percent, to $55.1 million.

Indianapolis-based Katz Sapper ranked 68th, down from 65th in 2010, while posting $46.7 million in revenue, a 3-percent increase from the previous year.

Greenfield-based Kemper climbed three spots in 2011, to 90th, with $33.5 million in revenue, a 0.7-percent increase from 2010.

With $11.9 billion in annual revenue, New York-based Deloitte LLP is the nation’s largest accounting firm, followed by PwC, Ernst & Young LLP and KPMG LLP, all in New York. All four firms have an Indianapolis presence.

Revenue at the nation’s 100-largest accounting firms increased 7.8 percent, to $46 billion.

More than 400 firms participated in the annual survey.
