Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana received $8,795.96, proceeds from the American Dairy Association of Indiana’s Ice Cream Social on the Circle.
Indy BackPack Attack’s school supply fund received over $77,000 raised by Indiana Members Credit Union in donations and at their annual Bowl-A-Thon.
Grants
The Leadership Institute – Women with Purpose was awarded a $50,000 grant for operating support by the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation.
Teachers’ Treasures received a $15,000 grant from Target Corp. to purchase basic school supplies.
Indy Reads and the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library received grants totaling $10,000 from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
The Indianapolis Zoo received a $2 million grant from the Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation for its International Orangutan Center.
Dr. Michael Ferguson, a pediatric oncologist at Riley Hospital for Children, received a two-year, $71,000 St Baldrick’s Fellow award from the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancer research.
Teachers’ Treasures was awarded a $15,000 grant by Target to be used for school supplies.
The Humane Society for Hamilton County was given $5,000 by Pulte Homes.
In Recognition
The Central Indiana Corporate Volunteer Council was named 2012 CVC of the Year by the HandsOn Network.
Ice Miller LLP was ranked third in the nation for having the highest percentage of female equity partners as part of The American Lawyer magazine’s Women in Law Firms study.
Dr. Shaun Grannis, Dr. J.T. Finnell, and Dr. J. Marc Overhage received a third place award from the International Society for Disease Surveillance for their article detailing a Regenstrief Institute study of emergency health care.
Dr. Joseph Fitzgerald, Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, was awarded the Distinguished Hoosier Award by the state of Indiana.
Blue & Co. LLC was named to Inside Public Accounting’s 2012 list of the top 100 accounting firms in the nation.
Stephen P. Bogdewic, Indiana University School of Medicine, received the 2012 Carole J. Bland Phronesis Award from the Association of American Medical Colleges.
River City Winery, New Albany, won the Wine of the Year award and Oliver Winery, Bloomington, won the Indiana Winery of the Year award at the 2012 Indy International Wine Competition. Indiana wineries won a total of 363 medals.
Kristi K. Baker, Compensation Systems Inc., was named a 2012 Five Star Wealth Manager Award recipient.
Michael Mathews was named top volunteer by Northwestern Mutual Financial and a $10,000 grant on his behalf was given to Servants at Work.•
