Jacobson, whose appointment is effective Nov. 1, will replace Michael Kenyon, who resigned in July so he could be president and CEO of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning in Indianapolis.
Jacobson most recently was North American vice president of financial services for Universal Music Group. He previously was vice president of administration for MCA Records.
The Percussive Arts Society is the world’s largest percussion organization, with 7,000 members and 78 chapters worldwide. The group promotes education, research, performance and appreciation of percussion music.
The Rhythm! Discovery Center opened in Claypool Court in downtown Indianapolis in 2009.
