Company officials expected the plant’s entire workforce of 2,000 would return today. But in a statement yesterday they said remaining workers likely would be called back Jan. 26.
Chrysler employs about 6,300 workers at the transmission plant, Kokomo Casting Plant and Indiana Transmission Plants I and II.
The two transmission plants that together employ about 1,500 workers resumed full production on third shift last night, and the casting plant was scheduled to be up and running today.
Chrysler idled 29 factories nationwide last month in an attempt to reduce dealer inventory.
