Dallas Mavericks owner and billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban will be visiting his alma mater Indiana University for a public talk next week.

Cuban will speak in conjunction with IU's Building Entrepreneurs in Software and Technology competition. School officials say the event will be Nov. 16 at Indiana Memorial Union's Whittenberger Auditorium, with Cuban speaking and taking audience questions at the presentation that is free and open to the public.

IU says the entrepreneurship program provided $250,000 in startup funding to four businesses conceived by IU Bloomington students during its first competition last school year.

Cuban is a 1981 IU graduate and tech entrepreneur who sold his Broadcast.com to Yahoo Inc. in 1999 at the height of the dot-com boom. He bought the Mavericks in 2000.
