Corporate Philanthropy
Indy Reads provided free literacy tutoring to a record 1,238 students in 2012.

Drake’s, a hybrid restaurant, bar and dance club raised more than $6,000 to benefit Indianapolis’ Dayspring Center Family Emergency Shelter, in addition to donations of essentials such as toilet paper, bottled water and more.

Fundraising

Fundraising results
Planned Parenthood of Indiana’s 80th anniversary event raised more than $75,000.

The YMCA at the Athenaeum Breakfast with Santa program received $5,000 as the result of a fundraising effort by employees of FirstPerson.

Grants
Catch the Stars Foundation, Happy Hollow Children’s Camp, Children’s TherAplay Foundation, Forest Manor Multi-Service Center and Outreach Inc. received grants of $5,000 each from the Finish Line Youth Foundation.

Twenty-one local and international organizations received $14,000 in 2012 from Global Gifts. More than $3,400 was donated from the proceeds of Community Shopping Nights and Black Friday.

Ivy Tech Community College was given a gift of $200,000 by The Farmers Bank to go toward the establishment of a campus in Frankfort.

In Recognition
John Granby, Verizon Wireless, received the CareerFOCUS 2012 Eagle Award from the National Eagle Leadership Institute and CareerFOCUS Magazine.
