As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowCarmel-based Allegient LLC, an information technology and consulting firm, announced Thursday morning that it plans to add 36 jobs by 2017 as part of a $225,000 expansion.
The company said it will add 4,000 square feet to its 12,000-square-foot office at 201 W. 103rd St. As part of the expansion, which is expected to be completed by spring, Allegient said it also will add new information technology equipment and software.
Allegient has 151 employees, including 116 in Indiana, and has begun hiring more business analysts and technology consultants.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. said it will provide Allegient up to $860,000 in performance-based tax credits. The city of Carmel approved additional property tax abatements.
Founded in 2001, Allegient provides business and technology services to clients in a variety of sectors, including health care, financial services, manufacturing and education.
Allegient’s announcement marks its second expansion in two years. In 2011, the company said it would invest $1.7 million to expand and equip its Carmel location, creating up to 42 jobs.
