An Indiana judge has frozen a $9.5 million lottery prize until a legal battle over the jackpot involving several hairstylists is settled.

Marion Superior Court Judge Heather Welch issued a preliminary injunction Friday barring the state lottery commission from awarding the Hoosier Lotto prize to hairstylist Christina Shaw.

Seven of Shaw's co-workers at an Indianapolis salon say the winning ticket for the Feb. 16 drawing was part of an office lottery pool. Shaw says she bought the ticket for herself, not as part of the pool.

But the other hairstylists testified Wednesday that they had all agreed to share any winnings from tickets purchased at the same time as those for an office pool and that Shaw knew the rules.

The lottery commission did not oppose the preliminary injunction.
