The Indiana Economic Development Corp. announced Tuesday night that Drew would relocate its headquarters from White Plains, N.Y., and expand its current manufacturing operations in Elkhart County. The parent company of Elkhart County-based Lippert Components Inc. and Kinro Inc. plans to invest $12.75 million to renovate and equip four plants in Goshen and Elkhart.
The agency says it offered Drew up to $4.3 million in conditional, performance-based tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants based on the company's job-creation plans. It says the cities of Elkhart and Goshen will consider property-tax abatements.
Drew Industries has more than 5,200 full-time employees across the country, including about 3,400 in Indiana. The company said it has already begun hiring additional engineers, furniture assemblers, general laborers, drivers and welders in Elkhart County.
