Better than this is streamlining the process for remodeling existing homes in the many neighborhoods of of Indianapolis as well as making more money available for those that cannot afford to add to or remodel their homes. Indianapolis has a VERY large stock of existing housing that is in great need. Right now I have investors from Chicago and San Francisco and LA that are buying property here in Indy and redoing many properties but if local people could be more competitive it might keep long time residents living here and lifting the value and livability of these areas.
    Right now the City is over worked and overwhelmed with the review process and many of the rules are regressive in nature. They are NOT friendly to older homes necessarily. Many of the rules are geared toward new construction and not existing.
