Mounce, who has spent the past five years as a meteorologist at WPSD-TV in Paducah, Ky., grew up in Avon, graduated from Avon High School and attended Indiana University before getting his broadcast meteorology certificate from Mississippi State University.
At WRTV, Mounce will serve as weekend meteorologist and will be a weekday weather reporter. He joins meteorologists Kevin Gregory, Todd Klaassen and Ashley Brown on "Stormteam 6"
We are happy to welcome Kyle back home to Indiana. He will be contributing to our live weather coverage on TV, on-line at theIndyChannel.com and on our expanding mobile and iPad news and weather apps,” said News Director Terri Cope-Walton, in a prepared statement.
WRTV said earlier this month that it planned to add staff and newscasts. Local stations have been fortifying their weather teams this year in preparation for popular weather personality Angela Buchman's move from WISH-TV Channel 8 to WTHR Channel 13 in September.
