The Greenwood IndyGo Commuter Express, the third IndyGo ICE route outside of Indianapolis, will depart from the Meijer Store on North State Road 135 and arrive downtown at Delaware and McCarty streets about a half-hour later. The route features five other stops downtown.
Departures from Greenwood start at 6 a.m. and run each half-hour until 8:30 a.m. Six different evening departures from downtown start at 3:45 p.m. and run through 6 p.m.
“With 200,000 rides provided so far, the popularity of the ICE services in Carmel and Fishers have demonstrated the continued need for mass transit in the region,” IndyGo President and CEO Michael Terry said in a statement.
A three-year, $1.8-million federal grant is funding the service, with the city of Greenwood providing a 20-percent match.
One-way bus fare is $3, or an ICE single-ride pass. Passes may be purchased online at www.IndyGo.net or at the IndyGo Customer Service Center in the Indianapolis City Market.
