Users of the ParkIND Plus program can earn free parking, according to an Indianapolis Airport Authority announcement. The rewards program is among a series of changes rolling out this month that are designed to make the airport more competitive with off-site competition and shore up an important revenue stream. Parking, the largest non-airline source of revenue, provides about $40 million a year.
Previously, the airport has said it will tweak its premium-parking options to include self-parking along with valet service in the Terminal Garage. Premium rates will also rise from $20 to $22. The airport has consolidated all surface parking into an economy lot costing $9 per day.
In other announcements Monday, officials said travelers will be able to pay for parking from the Ground Transportation Center and that shuttle bus shelters will be equipped with digital signs announcing the wait time for the next shuttle.
