Now television commercials—that’s a different thing.
Last month, Los Angeles-based film producer/director Steve Zukerman filmed commercials inside an MCL Restaurant and Bakery at Allisonville Road and 86th Street and in the Carmel Arts & Design District.
Rather than featuring Hoosiers as the stars, Zukerman brought with him Vic Cohen, the Hollywood actor/comedian and writer.
Cohen is a writer for NBC’s “Take it All,” and has starred in Fox’s “Mobbed.” If you don’t know who he is, look for the guy who looks like a cue ball with big black eyebrows, when the commercials air later this month in Indiana, Ohio and Illinois.
Cohen, incidentally, attended Indiana University. He earned his degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
Another commercial with much wider potential distribution was filmed in Indianapolis last May.
Former Indianapolis firm 3rd Strand Productions, which is now based in New York City, filmed a Web video and TV commercial for Swiss watchmaker Baume & Mercier at several area locations, including the Capri Restaurant on North Keystone Avenue.
