Ground Effects LLC announced Wednesday it expected to spend about $3.4 million to lease and equip a 40,000-square-foot facility where it will process bed liners and other accessories for GM's nearby pickup truck assembly plant.
The company, based in Ontario, says it expects to begin manufacturing at the factory by December. The factory is expected at first to make 20,000 bed liners a year, with full production eventually reaching 50,000 a year.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Ground Effects, LLC up to $825,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company's job-creation plans.
Ground Effects now has facilities across Canada, Michigan, Kentucky and Missouri. It employs about 600.
