Local home builder C.P. Morgan Communities Inc., which closed Friday, said today it is mailing refunds this week to customers who signed contracts for homes that have not been built.

Meanwhile, customers with homes that are complete or nearly completed will hear from a title company within the next month to schedule a closing, the company said.

The builder also said it has put money into escrow to finish landscaping on completed homes once spring rolls around.

For a decade, C.P. Morgan was the most prolific builder in central Indiana, but a prolonged downturn in both home values and demand for new homes slammed the 26-year-old company.

The company has set up a switchboard with recorded messages for its customers at (317) 848-4040.
